101st Airborn

101st Airborn

Carentan experienced intense challenges between National Viral troops and the Spanish people who were trying really to carry on to it. The fight for Carentan took place for five days in May 1944 before the People in america lastly overran the In german Wehrmacht.

The Spanish people were trying really to carry on to this ideal town; trying to keep the People in america until supports came. Carentan was important to the People in america as this would form a link between Ut and Omaha hold'em islands.

Carentan was protected by the 6th In german Parachute Program as well as other other models. These fight solidified troops were given the job of positioning again the lately came National Viral troops from the 101st Viral. They decreased into Normandy during the early hours of May 6th in and around Sainte Jessica Du Mont.

Towards the the western side of Carentan, there was a huge fight between the axis and allied troops and this fight is mentioned in Group of Friends. Soft Gulch would gradually see the getaway of the In german troops; required again by the dogged level of resistance of the People in america. Carentan was lastly caught by the People in america on May Fifteenth.

Fans of Group of Friends will find a trip to Carentan a must. With typical monuments that pay honor to the courageous troops of the 101st Viral and other troops who separated her, there are still many signs of D-day in and around the area. As opposed to many of the areas in the English area of the D-day landings that were almost completely damaged, in Carentan, there are still many structures that live through the challenges.

If you are planning a trip to Normandy a trip to Carentan is a must; especially if you want World War 2 history.
